Simulation Showdown

This will be ICEM 2026’s signature edutainment experience that brings emergency medicine to life through high-stakes, high-fidelity clinical simulation. 

This global tournament tests up to twelve elite EM teams from around the world to compete in a dynamic challenge designed to test clinical excellence, leadership under pressure, crisis resource management, and interprofessional synergy. 

With scenarios testing clinical expertise for patients of all ages, and with ethically grey dilemmas and curve balls thrown in for surprises, our scenarios demand quick thinking, calm leadership, and team precision. 

Hosted live in Hamburg, the Simulation Showdown is more than a competition, it’s an immersive learning journey. Expect cutting-edge simulation, global collaboration, and audience-powered engagement like never before.

Date and Time 

Preliminary rounds: Wednesday, 10 June 2026 
Semifinals: Friday, 12 June 2026, Event Stage, 13:30-15:00
Finals: Friday, 12 June 2026, Event Stage, 15:30-16:30

Team composition

• Interprofessional teams are encouraged, 2-4 people per team, with a coach to assist 

• Trainees and early-career clinicians are strongly welcome 

• Teams must be available for all competition rounds as scheduled 
   

Note on Team Registration

• Team name and country (or countries) 

• Names of team members and optional coach 

• Brief summary of team’s simulation or resuscitation experience 

• Confirmation of availability for competition dates 

• All scenarios will be run in English, however coaches can support their teams in any language they choose.
