Notes for Chairs
Each session is led by one Session Chair. Where appliccable, such as interactive sessions or panel discussion, a further Session Facilitator can be appointed to help conduct the session.
Session Chairs must not be a speaker in the same session they are chairing, in order to full presence, neutrality, and focus on moderation and flow.
General Information
Review the session program, speakers, and presentation titles.
Familiarize yourself with the session schedule and timing.
Prepare brief, accurate, and appreciative speaker introductions.
Open the session with clarity and a welcoming tone for both speakers and audience.
Ensure that both the session and each individual part of it starts and ends on time
Actively support time management, including clear time warnings and, if needed, respectful intervention when speakers overrun.
Close the session on time.
Thank the speakers and the audience for their contributions and participation.
To encourage the further exchange of ideas beyond the presentations, please remind the audience that questions and discussion will take place after the session in a designated area of the conference center.
We would like to point out a few important aspects regarding the design and structure of the sessions:
90-minute sessions
- 10 minutes discussion
- 5 minutes introduction and closing remarks
- 75 minutes effective presentation time
60-minute sessions
- 5 minutes discussion
- 5 minutes introduction and closing remarks
- 50 minutes effective presentation time
Please make sure the speakers strictly adhere to these time limits to ensure a smooth program flow!
Post-sessions Q&As will not take place in the lecture hall itself, but in a designated area („Discussion Zone“) within the conference center.
Individual sessions may deviate from this general pattern, so make sure to check the time allotted for all parts of your session in the online program.
