Welcome Note
IFEM President
Dear colleagues,
It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the 25th International Conference on Emergency Medicine (ICEM), taking place in the vibrant city of Hamburg, Germany, in partnership with the German Society for Emergency Medicine (DGINA).
ICEM is not just a conference. It is a global platform that brings together emergency medicine professionals from across the world to share knowledge, build connections, and shape the future of our specialty. As the flagship event of IFEM, ICEM embodies our mission to advance emergency care through education, collaboration, and advocacy.
This year’s gathering in Hamburg comes at a critical time. Across all regions, emergency care continues to face growing demands. Yet, our community remains united by a clear vision: that access to high-quality emergency care is a fundamental part of every health system. Through IFEM’s initiatives, we are working to make that vision a reality.
Hamburg, with its rich history of innovation and global outlook, is a fitting host. I want to thank the ICEM 2026 Local Organizing Committee and our many partners for their dedication in creating a meaningful and inclusive conference experience.
I warmly invite you to be part of ICEM 2026. Whether you are a seasoned leader or early in your emergency medicine journey, your voice, your experience, and your ideas matter. Together, we can drive progress, challenge old boundaries, and reimagine what emergency medicine can achieve.
I look forward to welcoming you to Hamburg in June 2026.
Dr. Saleh Fares Al-Ali
President, International Federation for Emergency Medicine (IFEM)
