Marketplace Activity

We favor presentation styles, focusing on clarity, brevity, and impactful delivery which emphasizes interactivity, storytelling, and visual engagement. The goal is to enthuse the audience and foster discussion with innovative formats or other unique approaches, e.g.:

Designed to be concise and impactful, delivering a significant message in a limited time and spread knowledge and spark conversations around important ideas. (TED = Technology, Entertainment, Design)

Audience members become the presenters. Chairs are arranged in concentric circles with a few chairs placed in the center, similar to a theatre-in-the-round setup.

Brief, concise and engaging presentation, typically lasting between 1 and 5 minutes, used to introduce a research topic or idea to an audience.

Learning or discussion session that uses real-life or hypothetical case studies as the primary tool for instruction and knowledge acquisition and to encourage critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaborative learning.

Structured conversation in front of the audience, where a group of experts with diverse perspectives engage in a discussion about a specific topic.

Attendees are given a short, set period of time to interact with multiple other participants, aiming to make new connections and exchange information quickly.

Presentations & Workshops can be augmented by:

  • Think-pair-share
  • Training Resources Information System (TRIS)
  • Quizzes & Polling tools
  • Small group interaction
  • Illustrative cases
  • Active experience integration

Submitters will be informed whether their submission was accepted in November 2025.

Single Presentations of up to 25 minutes are possible but may be subject to change.

International submissions and perspectives from all parts of the world are welcome!

The international program will be presented across six parallel tracks. At the heart of ICEM 2026 is the „Arena“: a 360° stage, surrounded by the audience. No lectures. No podiums. Only bold innovative formats – fast fierce and radically engaging.

In addition, there will be an Event Stage, as well as other standard lecture rooms („Courts“).

The Local Organizing Committee (LOC) will ensure that there is diversity of speakers, track chairs, conference organizers, and inclusiveness across geography, gender and race.

Approximately 25% of session time will be reserved for Q&As. We will provide designated areas at the venue where Q&As will be held after each session.

At this point we respectfully request that all speakers and session chairs refrain from political statements and ensure that discussions remain focused on scientific matters.

Join us in shaping the future of Emergency Medicine together!
